A Message from the Chairperson.
Stranraer House AGM | 29 August 2026
On Saturday, 29 August 2026, we held the Stranraer House Annual General Meeting, a particularly special occasion for me as my first AGM as Chairperson, following the handover from Stephen Stainbank last year.
Having served as HR Lead previously, I saw firsthand Stephen’s dedication and leadership in turning Stranraer House around, restoring stability and strengthening its foundations. I am sincerely grateful for the legacy he leaves and for the opportunity to continue building on that work.
The AGM was an opportunity to reflect on the 2025/26 year, celebrate our progress, and look ahead with renewed purpose. One of our highlights has been the growth of our Assisted Living Programme, from four (4) ladies when it opened in September 2025 to nine today, enabling more of our Residents to continue calling Stranraer House home as their needs change.
We also celebrate the many people who make Stranraer House what it is, ie our dedicated Staff and Management Team, Volunteers, Medical Professionals, Families, Donors, Churches and Community Partners, and, most importantly, our Residents.
As Chairperson, I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me to help steward this very special home. Stranraer House has been part of the Sydenham community since 1970, and our responsibility is to honour that legacy while building a sustainable and thriving future for the ladies who call it home.
Thank you to everyone who continues to stand alongside Stranraer House. Your generosity, service, prayers and encouragement make a tangible difference.
Stranraer House remains a place of safety, dignity, care and belonging, and together, we look forward to building an even stronger future.
